Plants & Produce to the People

Ever heard the phrase, “The revolution will not be televised?” I have always interpreted that to mean that a revolution is not a sit-back-and-watch event. Right now, there is a revolution happening across the country and that revolution is home vegetable gardening. As a nation, we lost the farming skills as we started a decades-long dependence on industrial farms, packaged foods and all the harmful ingredients that come with it. So, our additional concern is that of food sovereignty, growing our own food using practices that protect the ecosystem.

In addition, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancers have especially plagued Black communities and have robbed us of too many of our elders, too soon. We reject the notion that diseases prevalent in our community cannot be overcome with access to food.

ColorBlindWork (CBW) was formed out of a desire to address health issues from a food perspective, as well as from a health and wellness perspective. We are a micro-nursery providing home garden starter plants, sales via our online store, at farmer’s markets and through word of mouth. We encourage pre-orders to guarantee availability. We also buy produce from local farmers then resell at farmers markets and/or deliver direct to consumers, especially those who do not drive or are incapacitated temporarily or permanently.

We live in a country where those with the most resources are served first. CBW flips that notion and with us, the people with the most need, the most vulnerable, are served first. We will work in Stark County on our scheduled routes. If you are interested in ordering plants or produce, give us a shout here on our website or on Facebook.
